Car Insurance Audi (Car Insurance). On my 2006 Dodge Caravan, the key fob no longer controls the locks or sliding doors. Is this an easy DIY fix?

On my 2006 Dodge Caravan, the key fob no longer controls the locks or sliding doors. Is this an easy DIY fix? The inside controls for the door locks don't work either and only one rear door (driver's side) responds to the interior "Open/Close" button. Is this just a minor module switch-out or a major, dealer-only fix due to the computers inside the door that control the automatic opening/closing?

Sound like the BCM (Body Control Module) is fried. I'd try changing the fobs battery and checking the relays for the door locks and then check the switches.

Audi . Can a power steering pump be drawing power from the battery if the pump itself is bad?

Can a power steering pump be drawing power from the battery if the pump itself is bad? I have a 1999 saturn sl2 dohc manual transmission. Replaced alternator, starter, and battery. The problem is that the battery still isn't putting out over 14 v. It is at 12.4volts or so. So I was thinking it could be the power steering pump? There is also a whining noise coming from it. Could it be a bad bearing from the pulley on the pump? Should I just replace the pump? Is there anything else that could be drawing power from it? All the wiring looks good I do not think it is losing ground or anything. car insurance.

Audi . How to Replace The Oil Pan Gasket in a Ford Expedition

Replacing an oil pan gasket can be a time consuming and laborious job for a skilled technician with professional equipment. For the do-it-yourselfer, it can easily turn into several days of frustration if you are not properly prepared. Once you have determined you need to tackle this job, it is best to wrap your mind around the entire procedure before you even jack the Expedition up. Knowing what to expect and when to expect it will save you a great deal of time and aggravation.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Safety glasses
2 wheel chocks
Jack
2 jack stands
Drain pan
Box wrench set
Brake clean
Socket set
Pry bar (optional)
Gasket scraper or razor blade
Spray adhesive
Replacement oil pan gasket
Oil filter
Oil

Step by Step :
1
Place the wheel chocks in front of and behind the driver side rear wheel. Depress the parking brake pedal and put your safety glasses on.
2
Place the jack under the right front frame and jack the Expedition up until you can safely place a jack stand under the frame out of the way of the exhaust and oil pan. Carefully lower the vehicle onto the jack stand. Repeat this on the other side.
3
Slide the drain pan under the front end and climb under yourself. Use a box wrench to take out the oil drain plug and drain the oil into the drain pan. Spray the oil pan and surrounding areas thoroughly with brake clean to remove any leftover oil residue, once the oil has finished draining.
4
Use the socket set to unbolt the exhaust from the y-pipe back, take it down and set it aside.
5
Unbolt and disconnect the starter, using the socket set. Be careful to keep the starter body supported while unbolting it; if you let it hang from one ear, the ear may snap off. Set the starter aside when done.
6
Loosen all the oil pan bolts with the socket set.
7
Remove all the oil pan bolts, saving the ones at each corner for last; this will help you control where the pan goes when you remove the last four bolts. When you have them all out, remove the pan and move it out from under the Expedition. If the pan has never been removed and your Expedition has high mileage, you may need to coax it down using the pry bar. Be very careful not to distort the pan or mar the sealing surface on the engine with the pry bar. Clean any residue away from the sealing surface on the engine once the pan is off.
8
Climb out and remove the old gasket from the oil pan, using a gasket scraper or razor blade to get it completely off if necessary. Once it has been removed, spray the oil pan down with brake clean and wipe away any remaining residue.
9
Spray a light coating of spray adhesive onto the sealing surface of the oil pan, then carefully lay the new oil pan gasket in place. Slide the oil pan back under the Expedition.

Step by Step :
10
Position the oil pan back under the engine, making sure that the gasket does not slide or move around. Reinstall the four corner bolts first to hold it in place, then install the remaining bolts. Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern (just as you would lug nuts on a wheel).

Step by Step :
11
Reinstall the starter and exhaust in the reverse manner in which you removed them.

Step by Step :
12
Replace the oil filter.

Step by Step :
13
Fill the engine back up with the appropriate amount of oil. Start the engine and let it run. Look underneath to make sure you have no leaks. When you have verified that nothing is dripping, shut the engine off and jack the SUV back off the jack stands. Remove the jack stands and set the Expedition back on the ground.
Tips & Warnings
This repair should only be attempted by able bodied persons with an existing knowledge of basic automotive repair.

engages the front driveshaft along with the rear driveshaft so that all four wheels get power from the engine. In two-wheel drive, only the driveshaft connected to the rear wheels gets power from the engine, and the front wheels are disengaged. In four-wheel drive, the engine powers all the wheels. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles are different from all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles in that AWD vehicles send power to all four wheels all the time. AWD vehicles usually employ a center differential to split power from the engine to the front and rear wheels. Well, you've survived the ride on the drive train. As you've probably guessed — especially if you read chapter titles — I'm talking about your brakes. Brake System Basics One reason that today's vehicles are the safest in history is that they're equipped with hydraulic brake systems designed to operate on very simple principles with a minimum of parts and maintenance. Since 1968, all vehicles are also equipped with dual brake systems to ensure that if one set of brakes fails, the other set will still be able to stop your car; and with a dashboard light to warn you if your front or rear brakes fail. Figure 10-1 shows a basic brake system with a power booster, disc brakes on the front wheels, and drum brakes on the rear wheels. Your vehicle may not have power brakes or may have disc or drum brakes all around, but the principle is the same in any case.
